You can learn about Bath Homes Fit for the Future and its aims here.
As a volunteer steward you will need to have a minimum of 4 hours free on either Saturday 17th or Sunday 18th March from 10am - 2pm or 2pm - 6pm. (If you could manage two or more slots it would be wonderful and would make the most of the training you will receive.) You will also need to be available for 2 hours to attend our open homes volunteer training event on Wednesday 22nd February 7-9pm. Ideally you will also have a further 1-2 hours to meet the home owner and get to know the specifics of the home (looking around and reading the info sheets) before the open homes weekend.
The role will involve welcoming visitors to one of the homes which are opening their doors, giving visitors information sheets, and helping to answer their questions. You'll also be offering tea and refreshments, and giving directions to other open homes as required.
We're looking for people who:
- Have some knowledge of energy efficiency
- Are welcoming and friendly
You will receive full support and training from Kathy Tate of BANES Council and Cathy Hough from Transition Bath. Wherever possible we will aim to match you with a home in your neighbourhood. We are able to cover reasonable travel expenses if travel is required.
We are aiming for two volunteer stewards at each open home so it is likely you will be working in pairs. The home owner(s) will also be present.
If you enjoy meeting new people, and would like to learn more about home energy efficiency or share your knowledge, this is the role for you. Get in touch with Kathy Tate at BANES Council on 01225 477528 mailto:admin@bathhomesfitforthefuture.co.uk. |
